The Palacio Ingrid has emerged from a long-standing passion for the restoration of ancient real estate and structures with particular histories and prestige. Since the owner's first visit to Paraguay in 2017, the visionary behind this project was captivated by the development potential in the city center of Asunción. Despite the risks, he decided to invest in the restoration of a palace in the heart of the old town.
Located at Presidente Franco 581-583-585, between 14 de Mayo and 15 de Agosto, a few steps from the Presidential Palace and the Congress Building, the Palacio Ingrid stands as an architectural masterpiece. This residence of almost 600 square meters has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms, as well as a kitchen custom designed by Dell Anno, a lush garden, swimming pool, gym with sauna and a large barbecue area.
In August of 2019, demolition work began to create a solid foundation for the restoration. Preparation included gutting the building for installation of essential infrastructure such as plumbing and electrical. Every detail, from the metal parts to the antique stones, was meticulously treated and restored.
The restoration not only focused on functionality but also aesthetics. The wooden doors and windows were painstakingly restored and fitted with modern double glazing for exceptional thermal and acoustic insulation. The double garage on the ground floor was the result of careful negotiation with the municipality to modify the protected façade without compromising visual harmony.
In the office space, the restoration revealed the old red brick ceiling and iron beams, testimony to the traditional Paraguayan construction techniques. The office flooring replicated antique décor with sophisticated aging techniques for maximum authenticity.
The house has three rooms designed with moldings, cornices and rose windows corresponding to the period and architecture of the main building. The attention to detail extends to the honey-colored varnished parquet, which features large planks to disguise the geometric imperfections of the walls.
The property is not only a gift for the senses inside, but also a pleasure from the outside. The deck-style platform on the roof allows you to enjoy panoramic views of the pool, gym, the city center and the majestic López Palace.
A key element of the restoration was the creation of an access to the upper floor turret from the main house, connecting five overlapping levels. The garden, on the first floor, includes two terraces, lawn, illuminated pool and a waterfall, all designed to efficiently manage drainage during heavy rain.
Security was also a priority, with strategically placed surveillance cameras and an alarm system monitored 24 hours a day by the country's leading security company. Through an application, the owner is able to view the cameras at any time and from anywhere.
The restoration of the Palacio Ingrid fuses historic charm with authenticity and modern refinement, offering ultra-modern comfort in an old town setting. Although located in the heart of the city, the property guarantees privacy and tranquility, protecting its residents from external disturbances.
The execution of this ambitious project was carried out by BCN Constructiones, part of the Spanish group Grupo Barcelona, known for the restoration of the iconic "Palmaroga" hotel.
